WHAT IS PROJECT-BASED LEARNING?
Project-Based Learning is an instructional approach built upon authentic learning activities that engage student interest and motivation. These activities are designed to answer a question or solve a problem and generally reflect types of learning and work people do in the everyday world.
WHO ATTENDS SUMMIT ACADEMY?
Students who have a strong desire to learn and can work independently.
Students who want to learn in a close-knit nonjudgmental learning community.
Capable students who could benefit from a small pupil-to-teacher ratio and work independently.
Capable students who can recover failed credits.
Capable students who will be involved and complete Service-Learning Projects.
Capable students who need flexible schedules and a differentiated learning environment.
WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?
Summit Academy is open to all 6, 7 and 8th grade students in the Blackfoot School District.
An APPLICATION is required for all students interested in attending Summit Academy. All interested student must submit an application via fax, mail, or in person.
Students who attend Summit Academy are required to remain in good standing academically and socially or their attendance at Summit Academy will be terminated.
